Gas is basically legal robbery these days. Upside softens the blow by giving you cash back every time you fill up at a listed gas station. But I love getting cashback from a food stop.

Why I use it:
If you’re a travel-lover like me (hello, I stay on somebody’s cruise ship), MileagePlus Shopping is a whole hack. I am an avid United Airlines flier. So being able to use their shopping site to get miles is a win win.

Every purchase earns you United miles, which means:
• cheaper flights
• free flights
• flight upgrades
• lounge access if you save enough

🥳 Even better:
Most of your favorite stores that you are already shopping at are attached to Mileageplus shopping.

Side note: Loyalty programs pay. Most airlines have a shopping site for you to earn miles. With a little research, you could be stacking miles from everyday purchases with your favorite airlines.

Why I use it:
Capital One Shopping’s browser extension automatically checks for coupon codes and finds better prices across the internet. It’s like your own personal assistant checking on pricing for you.

🎁 Bonus:
You earn credits you can redeem for gift cards — Macys, Sephora, hotels, and more.

Sometimes the coupon savings alone beat the cashback apps…and I am never mad about that. 😌Nothing like being on Amazon and a small screen pops up to say this item is $15 less over at this site. Tell me more.

No, you can’t stack these, but you can see which one will give you the best bang for your buck. I do it unapologetically. 😎✨

Here’s my strategy:

1. Install the Rakuten and Capital One Shopping browser extensions.
   They’ll pop up automatically when you’re eligible for savings. They will tell you what percentage you can get back or how much you can save. Just make sure you click to get your savings. I don’t want to tell you how many times I didn’t click and still made a purchase that wasn’t eligible forc ashback.
   
2. Use MileagePlus Shopping for travel.
   More miles = more trips. I use this when I’m making large purchases because more points equal cheaper flights. And at the costs of flights these days, every bit counts.
   
3. Use Upside anytime I’m outside.
   Because outside is expensive. And Upside has you covered from gas to McDonald’s. And let me just say I’ve been missing out because I just learned the grocery store I’m always at is on there. I’m hurt, but oooh, I will be getting that coinage from now on.
   
4. Check holiday + seasonal promos.
   Black Friday, Labor Day, Back-to-School, and Prime Day hit different with these apps. Please note that these apps are not offering discounts on Amazon, but they will show you where to get it for less than the Amazon price. Especially Capital One Shopping. Shhhh!
